Launch Lab is a full-day in-person workshop designed to help your marketing team build a customized and air-tight 12-month marketing timeline. You will be joined by Dan Russell (Vivid Labs CEO and our lead strategist) and Angel Carothers, Vivid Labs Project Manager, to facilitate the workshop.

Over the course of the day, you’ll be brought through a review of your 10-year and 3-year visions. This helps us get to know you really well. That first conversation will then lead into specific conversations around your upcoming projects. The in-person session lasts approximately 6 hours. By the end, you will have a flowchart designed around your current – and future – marketing campaigns. 

In the days following the in-person experience, our project manager will return with a completed workbook document outlining your 12-month project timeline, complete with recommended deliverables, timelines, and estimates that you can take to the marketing team of your choice.

The six steps of Launch Lab are designed to build a rock-solid marketing strategy for your next year in business, including product launches.

STEP 1: Brand

Your brand is, in the simplest terms, the feeling your business elicits. It’s the emotional connection that you create between your company and your customers – in essence, it’s how deeply your audience falls in love with your company.

Brands are described best by naming those feelings and describing the strengths and weaknesses of the brand itself. With that in mind, we want to characterize your brand properly so we can figure out how it’s helping (or hurting) your sales process.

During this first part of Launch Lab, we’ll refine the most defining characteristics of your brand so it is fueling – not holding back – your marketing efforts.

    STEP 2: Existing Products

    Before we move into the launch of future products, we need to identify the “state of the union” for your business. That allows us to determine what fixes are needed in the near-term as well as what products could “ride the coat tails” of a future launch in order to hit higher sales numbers. In this section of Launch Lab, we’ll answer questions such as:

    • Are all of your products performing at their full sales potential?

    • Are your funnels fully optimized?

    • What is your current cost per acquisition?
    • What are your most profitable products? Least profitable?
    • What products do you get the best feedback on?

    STEP 3: Audience Fit

     In Partnership With…

    It’s essential to have product/market fit with your existing product line-up. While that seems like a very straightforward thing to say, most companies assume that if there are sales coming in, you have perfect audience fit. The fact of the matter is that this is not true; there are specific ways to achieve better audience fit. What’s more, finding out what your customers want outside of what you’re currently providing will set the foundations for upcoming launches.

    This section of Launch Lab will include a deep dive into your industry and competitors. We will provide in-depth research reports provided by our market research partner, IBISWorld, a global leader in industry research reports. You receive these reports as part of your workshop fee – they don’t cost anything extra.

    STEP 4: Sales Momentum

    Each part of Launch Lab up until now has built a strong foundation on which we can create a marketing strategy. If we want to build a strategy for 12 months, however, we need to understand where your company lies right now in terms of product sales. 

    This is what Part 4 is focused on – we’re now looking at the numbers. In this section, we will gain an understanding of how each of your sales channels are performing. We’ll look at each product individually and how they are each contributing to your top line revenue.

    Very few companies look at these numbers on a regular basis – if ever – so give yourself a pat on the back! You are taking a 30,000-foot view of your business, possibly for the first time ever.

    STEP 5: Sales Process

    Right now in your business, there are all sorts of ways someone can buy from you. In this section, we’re going to map all of them out from start to finish. Our team will use an online flowchart tool to begin mapping out your sales process in its current form.

    With this flowchart, you will begin to see where some of the inefficiencies in your sales process could be hiding. In addition to that, our team will begin to see new opportunities based on holes or untapped sales channels that you haven’t yet seen.

    STEP 6: Upcoming Products

    It’s now time to take a look at the products you currently have coming up for release. Now that we have a clear understanding of your current funnel and ways of optimizing it, we will find out where your new products fit into your current business model and determine when to announce them.

    This process begins with a conversation around your current plans for new products or service lineups. After we’ve gone through each of these, our team will come with further recommendations. The final product will be a completed flowchart with color coding of where your current sales process stops and where your future sales process starts.

    After Our Time Together…

    After your in-person Launch Lab experience, our team will return to Vivid Labs HQ to process the information you’ve given us. Within 2 weeks, we’ll return with a supplement to your Launch Lab workbook. This supplement will contain project summaries for your next 12 months, including detailed analysis of expected deliverables, timelines, and investments (should you decide to work with our productions team).

    Your Launch Lab experience will conclude with a final 60-minute conference call with our team. This call will go through your Launch Lab document, answer questions, make any edits that are necessary, and help identify next steps.
